Plan Your AI Influencer’s First Affiliate Image Post
You have chosen an affiliate product that fits your AI influencer’s niche. Now you need a post. A portrait with the product beside a smiling face might look finished, but it can leave a potential buyer with the same question they had before: would this actually suit me?
Give the post one useful job. For a small-desk account promoting a cable organizer, that job could be helping someone check whether the organizer fits the cables they want to keep within reach. The image introduces that decision, the caption explains what to compare, and the link takes them to the exact item.
An affiliate link can earn the account operator a commission on qualifying purchases. That relationship belongs in the post, alongside useful product information. Here is how to plan the whole image-and-caption combination without turning your AI influencer into a fictional customer.
Choose the question your picture will answer
Start after you have selected the offer. If you are still comparing categories, the guide to choosing affiliate products covers that earlier decision.
For this worked example, imagine a fictional small-desk account called Mira’s Desk. Its operator has chosen a cable organizer and wants to make a post around this question:
Will my charging cables fit this organizer?
Use these invented specifications only to follow the example: the selected organizer has three slots, and its manufacturer lists compatibility with cable diameters from 3 to 5 mm. Suppose the operator also has a product photo they are authorized to use. These are teaching inputs, not specifications for a real offer; substitute the verified details and permitted imagery for your own item.
That is enough to choose a useful angle. The post can show the three-slot product and tell viewers to compare the manufacturer’s stated range with the thickness of their cables. It does not need to claim that the organizer grips perfectly, leaves no marks or works with every charger. Those are different claims, and the two supplied facts do not answer them.
Build the image around the product detail
Plan one image with two visibly separate panels. Give the larger panel to the accurate product photo, with all three slots easy to see. Put a smaller AI-influencer desk scene beside it to retain the account’s familiar face and setting. A border and separate backgrounds should make the layout read as a product information card beside an illustrative scene, rather than a photograph of Mira using the item.
Add the headline “Will your cables fit?” above the product photo. Below it, use “Manufacturer-listed cable diameter: 3–5 mm.” Keep the specification close to the exact product it describes. Label the smaller panel “AI-generated desk scene,” and place a readable “Ad” label near the top of the finished image.
Assemble these parts in your usual image editor. Keep the product photo as the product photo: do not ask the generator to redraw it, add an extra slot or invent a demonstration. Add the headline, specification and labels as text after generating the scene, so you can check the wording and placement yourself.
The AI influencer does not need to hold the organizer. In this post, Mira’s role is to introduce a desk-planning question; the separate product panel carries the item’s details. That division also makes it easier to remove a decorative scene if it starts to crowd out the useful information.
A scene brief could read:
Create an illustrative image of the adult AI influencer from the supplied identity reference, seated at a small desk in soft daylight. Show a notebook and an open area of desktop. Keep both hands resting naturally on the desk. Use the account’s usual warm neutral colors. Do not include a cable organizer, branded packaging, product endorsements or text. This image will be placed beside a separate product information panel.
Use that brief with a tool that accepts an identity reference, then inspect the result before adding it to the layout. The prompt describes the intended scene; choose an image whose face, hands and objects actually support it.
If you do not have an accurate product image you are allowed to use, pause this product-specific post and obtain one. A generic generated organizer beside a link to a different real item would undermine the buyer question you are trying to answer.
Write the caption as the next part of the explanation
The image has drawn attention to cable fit. The caption can now explain what the number means and where to check the remaining details. Keep the same question throughout, rather than switching to a broad pitch about transforming someone’s workspace.
For the fictional Mira’s Desk example, the operator could adapt this caption once the real product details and link destination are in place:
Ad — this account earns a commission on qualifying purchases through its product link.
Before choosing a cable organizer, check the thickness of the cables you want it to hold. The three-slot organizer shown here lists a cable diameter range of 3–5 mm. Compare that range with your cable’s specification, or measure across the cable itself—not its plug.
The side panel is an AI-generated desk scene. The product panel shows the item described here.
Find the organizer under “Three-slot cable organizer” on our profile’s product page. Check the manufacturer’s fit and mounting instructions before deciding.
This gives a follower something to do before buying. It names the relevant feature, explains the comparison and leads to further product information. It also leaves out “I use this every day” or “my favorite desk upgrade,” which would introduce a personal-use story the example cannot support.
The FTC’s influencer disclosure guidance says not to describe a product experience you have not had or make unsupported product claims. It also advises placing commercial disclosures with the endorsement, where people can see them without expanding the caption. For posts likely to affect U.S. consumers, use that guidance when reviewing your final layout; check the rules for your own market and affiliate program as well.
Make the route to the product match the post
The sample caption assumes the account has a profile link leading to a product page with an entry named “Three-slot cable organizer.” Create that entry and test the route before using the sentence. It should lead to the exact variant pictured and described, not a similar organizer with a different fit range.
If your publishing platform lets you place a usable product link directly with the caption, replace the last paragraph with a direct instruction such as “Check this organizer’s fit and mounting instructions at the product link below.” Use the route a viewer can actually follow; do not paste a link into a place where it is only unclickable text and assume the job is done.
Put clear commission wording beside the link on the destination page too. The FTC’s affiliate guidance explains that the phrase “affiliate link” alone may not tell people that purchases earn you money. A clear explanation close to the recommendation helps connect the relationship to the product. The AI-scene label answers a separate question: how that part of the image was made.
Review it as one finished post
Look at the image, the first visible caption lines and the linked product together. In the example, all three should identify the same three-slot organizer and preserve the same 3–5 mm range. If the image shows four slots, the caption promises a stronger grip, or the destination opens a different variant, correct the mismatch before posting.
Then view the image at the size someone will see in their feed. The product’s slots, buyer question, specification and disclosure should be readable without relying on the smaller AI scene to explain them. If space is tight, reduce the decorative scene rather than the product information.
You now have a defined first post: an accurate product panel, a separate Mira desk scene, a caption that helps someone check cable fit, and a route to the exact item. Replace the fictional specifications with your offer’s verified facts and build the larger product panel first. Once that panel answers the buyer’s question, add the AI influencer beside it and finish the caption around the same decision.
